Special Hinges for Screens
Screen hinges are special hinges with an opening angle of 360°. They can be used to assemble any number of panels into screens and set them up at any angle to each other.
The screens can be folded into "packages" and then stored to save space.
Flexible screens made of Shoji doors, screens made of Fusuma elements
Shoji elements, but also screens made of other panels, can be connected with screen hinges. For flexible screens as privacy screens or decoration, in trade fair construction, in restaurants or as a folding screen. If you cover panels with Fusuma paper, you can connect the individual panels with screen hinges and create a real Byobu (traditional Japanese folding screen).
The large hinges (Komori 30) are suitable for Shoji elements that are usually approx. 30 mm thick. The small hinges (Komori 20) are intended for Shoji or panels up to 20 mm thick made of 19 mm thick panel material.
Due to the manufacturing processes of pressing, punching and rolling, screen hinges have certain tolerances. Our screen hinges always require some effort to open and close. This is due to the design and is intentional. When installed, for example in a screen, they are then easy to move due to the leverage of the screen elements.
