Laminiertes Japanpapier ist ein Verbundmaterial aus einem dünnen Shojipapier als Mittellage und 2 PVC-Kunststofffolien als Laminierung,
Wie alle Shojipapiere ist auch das laminierte Washi sehr dünn und stark lichtdurchlässig, aber nicht durchsichtig und streut daher sehr schön das Licht. Außer für die Shoji-Bespannung wird es zum Beispiel für Lampen und Leuchten und für Flächenvorhänge eingesetzt.
